Joshua 1

A LONG THOUGHT from the Holy Bible’s Old Testament from THE BOOK OF JOSHUA, chapter 1.

Pastor/Teacher Warren Wiersbe said about this Old Testament book: “The Book of Joshua is the book of new beginnings for the people of God, and many believers today need a new beginning.” The Jews had just wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, Moses died and they were to enter into the Promised Land of God that He had sworn to their fathers to give them.

God established a condition for the Jews to enter into the Promised Land.“ “For if you carefully keep all these commandments which I command you to do—to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him—then the LORD will drive out all these nations from before you, and you will dispossess greater and mightier nations than yourselves. Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours.” (Deuteronomy 11:22-24, NKJV)

Sometimes a follower of Christ will get sidetracked in their walk with God because of disobedience and rebellion. Followers often need a fresh re-start with their walk with God. The apostle John tells believers that “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleans us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9, NKJV)

This Old Testament Book Of Joshua will provide principles and lessons to help a follower of Christ to once again to walk daily by faith with the LORD Jesus Christ. In this first chapter of the Book of Joshua, God tells His new leader, Joshua, that He would be with Joshua as He was with Moses.

God told Joshua, “as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.I will not leave you nor forsake you.Be strong and of good courage.” (Vs. 5-6. NKJV)He further told Joshua, “Observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.” (V. 7)

One important lesson that New Testament Christians need to learn is that God leadsus by the promises found in His Word. That is why is so important that Christians read from the Word of God - the Holy Bible - every day.King David asked the LORD to “teach me the way of Your statues…give me understanding and I shall keep Your law…and revive me in Your way.” (Psalm 119:33-37.” (NJKV)

Do you know that you are born again and a true follower of Jesus Christ? If not, why not call upon Jesus Christ and be made right with God today!.That is why Jesus Christ died on the Cross because He is the only way, the truth and the life that you can come to the Father and be forgiven of your sins and be born again. (John 14:6)
